Originated by: Carrie Stevens
Source: Carrie G. Stevens: Maker of Rangeley Favorite Trout and Salmon Flies - Hilyard Pg. 144, 145

Hook: Partridge Cs15
Thread: Red 6/0
Tag: Flat silver tinsel
Tail: Red schlappen
Body: Red floss
Ribbing: Flat silver tinsel
Throat: Red schlappen
Wing: 4 golden badger hackle
Eye: Jungle cock
Head: Red with black band

Notes: A regal streamer with a distinct lateral line thanks to the dark centred badger hackle. The red body, throat and tail point towards its use as a wounded smelt imitation capable of moving the laziest of the big land locked salmon in the Rangeley region lakes.

Darren, very nice job, especially the head. I like the tapered sleek look. Also, anything w/golden badger is a fish killer.

The colors, profile, sleek look, just blew me away. That golden badger is gorgeous, and perfect for this streamer. Darren you outdid yourself on this one!

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
