This is an unusual fly among Bergman’s Wet Flies in “Trout”. His recipe calls for a floss wing and beard. In J. Edson Leonard it is a quill wing with green and a center stripe of red.
Rayon was invented in the late 1800s and came to the US in pre WW1 as a silk replacement. Did Bergman use Rayon?

Here I'll be joining a group of great anglers that I fish with every year. We have reserved permits on 4-7 July in Veiðivötn region in the central volcanic highlands of Iceland. PT Jig

Probably the quickest fly that you will ever tie!
This little comparadun midge is the 'bees knees' when it comes to simplicity and presentation. It sits low in the surface and can be tied in whatever colour you require. Use a hackle that is a little larger than standard for the hook size, this makes it more visible at distance.

Best of Both Emerger
This is a very interesting pattern from Gordon van der Spuy’s first book, 'The feather mechanic’. The best of both, has two parachute hackles, one of traditional hackle and one of CDC. The lower CDC hackle helps give the emerger a more lifelike presentation, rather than the more static traditional hackle.

Emaciated Mayfly
A relatively new pattern that I have only fished with this season, that has proven extremely effective, especially in the smaller sizes. Consisting of a CDC detached body and a comparadun wing of CDL and CDC, this extremely simple pattern is a very quick tie. The straightforward construction results in a very realistic footprint and perfect presentation every cast.

Incomparable
This is my tying of Guy Plas’ Incomparable pattern. I learned about this fly from Jean-Paul Pequegnot’s book “French Fishing Flies”.
This pattern uses pardo Gallo de Leon (speckled ones) from the “kidney” feathers tied as a false hackle in front of a grey dun rooster hackle. The rooster hackle is tied with the best side facing the rear so the fish see the best side of all feathers.

SloMo Worm Redish
Few things can make the trout along the Scandinavian coasts as selective as when the large swarms of ragworms appear when the water get warmer after the cold winter. Clouser Minnow
Here we will be tying an American classic Minnow called the Clouser Minnow. The fly is a great option for both stream and lake fishing. The original Clouser Deep Minnow evolved from traditional bucktail streamers and was created in 1987 by Bob Clouser, a Pennsylvania fly shop owner and guide. The original patterns were intended for smallmouth bass on the Susquehanna River.
